Adams Morgan is a culturally diverse neighborhood in Northwest Washington, D.C. and is the best place to go out. It offers dozens of bars, restaurants and night clubs. Although Adams Morgan is considered the heart of Washington's Latino community, party places are not Latino only.

After a multi-million-dollar restoration, Courtyard by Marriott Embassy Row combines state-of-the-art accommodations with warm, plush furnishings and the flair of a modern boutique. Washington Business Journal picked the hotel for the "Best Renovation of the Year" Award. http://www.courtyardembassyrow.com/

The best way to get around town is the metro. The SmarTrip card works on the metrorail and the buses, and is the simplest way to get to work, or from one local attraction to the next.

Cafe 8 - an authentic Turkish restaurant in south-east Washington, DC. It offers leaden cheese-stuffed phyllo rolls (cigar borek), overly smoky eggplant dip and very satisfying grilled lamb and veal, shaved over toasted pita and tangy with yogurt sauce: what the menu refers to as "Iskender kebab" and what the kitchen lights up with a wrinkled green pepper.

Zengo is Japanese for "give and take". It is a Latin-Asian restaurant at a very convenient location in Washington, DC.

A quick highlight of one of my favorite places to get away while still inside the city in DC.

If you happen to be in DC to catch one of the Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair, it?s well worth checking out. I caught this one in the trendy Adams Morgan neighborhood.

If you're looking for an upscale wine bar with a great vibe in U Street, Vinoteca is where it's at.

I discovered a great little sandwich shop in the upscale Dupont Circle neighborhood in DC that I just loved. Apparently, Potbelly Sandwich works is a national chain, but I'd never heard of it before my visit to DC... and to me, it has all the charm of a Mom and Pop deli.

Washington DC has the highest population of Ethiopians outside of Ethiopia... which makes for some fantastic Ethiopian eats. Dukem claims to be the BEST Ethiopian restaurant in DC... and after eating there, we can see why. It took 4 of us about 4 minutes flat to demolish the Special Veggie Platter.

At $1500/night, the Presidential Suite at the Marriott Wardman Park is a bit more than most travelers can spend, but one can dare to dream. The crown jewel in the old section of Washington's biggest hotel, this 3 bedroom Suite is beyond impressive. Next time you're planning to splurge in DC, this is the place.

The best way to check off all of the must-see National Mall monuments and museums from your tourist to-do list is to hop on a Double Decker tour. Here we catch all of the classic sights on the fly, such as the US Capitol Building, the National Gallery of Art, the World War II Memorial, the Museum of the American Indian, the Lincoln Memorial, and of course the White House.
